Genuine leather sofas are made of animal skins, such as cowhide, sheepskin, etc., which are processed through a specific process. Because the leather is breathable and very soft, it is very comfortable to sit on and not easy to get dirty.

A leather sofa in your living room looks beautiful, elegant, and stylish. However, after a long period of use, the oil inside the leather sofa evaporates and becomes hard, so it needs maintenance. So, what should you pay attention to when caring for and maintaining a leather sofa?

To ensure the ventilation of the room

Excessive dryness or humidity will accelerate leather aging. Avoid placing leather sofas in direct sunlight or air conditioning, as this can cause the leather surface to harden and fade. If you purchased a leather sofa from a manufacturer and your living room is frequently exposed to sunlight, it's advisable to periodically rotate the positions of several sofas to prevent noticeable color differences. If the humidity is high, expose the sofa to weak sunlight for one hour between 8 and 10 a.m.

Avoid stains

Use an eraser to remove any remaining glue marks at the cut. Although the leather sofa manufacturer produced the sofa, you still need to take good care of it yourself and avoid stains from oil, ballpoint pen, ink, etc. If you find any stains on the sofa, clean it immediately with leather cleaner.

Avoid sharp objects scratching the leather

If improper use results in small cracks or scratches on the leather surface, grind egg white into ink. For colored leather, use the appropriate watercolor paint. Repeatedly apply the ink. Once dry, apply leather polish or Vaseline. If the crack is relatively large, apply a high-quality adhesive such as Black & Decker glue evenly to both sides of the cut. After 8-10 minutes, tighten the cut, align, and glue. If the leather sofa is severely damaged, contact the leather sofa manufacturer for repairs.

Proper cleaning

For daily care of leather sofas , just wipe them with a wrung-out wet towel. Clean the sofa with leather cleaner every 2 to 3 months, or use a household vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the surface of the sofa.
