Many people consider electronic combination safes a high-tech new product that has recently emerged. While they are difficult to open, they are actually much easier to open than mechanical combination locks. Their biggest weakness is their limitations. They can become inoperable without power. They are also prone to wire breaks, circuit board burns, or display failures, rendering them inoperable in several situations. Therefore, an emergency keyhole is essential. In the event of a power outage, circuit board burns, or display failure, an emergency key must be used to open the electronic safe. This greatly facilitates locksmiths in opening the combination lock.
If you follow the normal opening procedure, with power on and the password known, press the "#" key once. When the display light comes on, enter the previously set password on the numeric keypad. Press the "#" key again, insert the key, twist the key, and then twist the opening handle. The safe door will open.
Henan Huadu Times Furniture Editor explains the five methods of opening electronic password lock safes as follows:
The first technical opening method is that if you have the key and the customer forgets the unlocking password and loses the emergency key, you can find the emergency keyhole under or next to the numeric keypad. Generally, the emergency keyhole is covered by a cover. Open the cover first to find the emergency keyhole (most emergency keys are plum blossom locks).
Then use the plum blossom lock opening tool to open the emergency lock, then open the big key lock and twist the opening handle to open the safe door.
The second technical method, if you don't have the tools to open a plum blossom lock, is to get a screwdriver, aim it at the lock cylinder, and then strike it with a hammer to push the lock cylinder out. At this point, the lock cylinder has been pushed out, revealing a hole. Insert a 7-shaped hook into the hole and click on a valve inside. Press the valve down, then turn the large key and the opening handle. The safe door will open. Then, replace the lock with a new one for the customer. (Plum blossom locks are inexpensive, wholesale for only a few yuan.)
The third technical opening method is called forced relay method. The method is: if there is no emergency keyhole in the safe, or the emergency keyhole cannot be opened, open the emergency keyhole cover, there is a hole on it, and insert a steel wire into it to make a hook.
Hook out the wires inside, one is a red wire and the other is a blue wire, peel off the ends of the two wires, then connect the battery, one to the negative pole and the other to the positive pole to force the relay, then turn the big key to open it, and then turn the opening handle, the safe door can be opened.
The fourth technical opening method, called the vibration relay method, is only suitable for small safes. Lift one corner of the safe and give it a forceful downward jolt (with the key inserted first). At the moment of vibration, twist the key, and the safe door will open. If it doesn't work the first time, try a few more times. Larger safes require two or three people to help. This method involves causing the barrier valve to suddenly contract downward during the vibration, allowing the key to be turned.
The fifth technical method is called the click method. Modern electronic combination safes typically have two holes on the back. These holes are used to install expansion screws, securing the safe to the wall and making it difficult to move. However, 98% of customers don't secure their safes to the wall after purchase (to facilitate relocation). To open these holes, shine a flashlight (preferably a strong one) through one hole. Insert a 6mm wire through the other hole and click the reset combination button (located on the back of the door). Once you click the correct button, the external display will light up, allowing you to reset the combination on the number pad (for example, click 123). Then press the # key to confirm. Press the # key again, then the newly set combination 123, and press the # key again to confirm. Turn the large key, then the handle, and the door will open. (If the customer's electronic safe is out of power, you can insert an emergency battery pack.)
