Many people buy sofas because they think genuine leather sofas look high-end and are comfortable to sit on, so they're particularly tempted to buy one. However, with so many different sofas on the market, even after listening to the sellers' introductions, they often find themselves at a loss as to how to choose. They also don't know what genuine leather sofas are, and they're afraid of being scammed. Due to their lack of experience, they don't know how to distinguish genuine leather sofas. Below, Delo's Leather Sofa will introduce some methods for identifying genuine leather sofas.
When selecting a genuine leather sofa, the first thing to do is touch it. If it feels soft and supple, the leather should be smooth and not cold to the touch. Man-made materials have a plasticky feel and a shiny sheen, and can feel cold to the touch in winter. Pressing the softer part of the leather surface with your thumb will reveal a series of small, even patterns around your thumb. Lifting your thumb will remove the patterns. Man-made materials may have no patterns or large, coarse grain, which persists when you lift your thumb. Many genuine leather sofa manufacturers can easily identify genuine leather by touch.
Check the leather sofa's frame. The strength of the frame directly impacts its lifespan and quality assurance. A good leather sofa must be framed with square wood nails and secured with side panels. Regardless of the brand, you can verify its quality by inspecting the frame. To check the frame, lift one end of the sofa and note whether the other leg is off the ground when the lifted part is 10 cm. The inspection is considered passed only if both ends are off the ground.
Checking the resilience of a leather sofa is crucial during production. A leather sofa with poor resilience can easily collapse after use. To ensure the sofa's resilience, sit on it in a free-fall position, allowing the cushion to bounce at least twice. This ensures the sofa's resilience and extends its lifespan.
